Much like any other ancient society, the Medieval people enjoyed telling stories about legendary beasts. They told stories of astounding creatures such as wiverns,griffins, hippogriffs, and gargoyles. It was then that artists got to work designing the creatures that storytellers had described. From then on, these drawings of legendary animals could be featured on tapestries, heraldry, artwork, and coat of arms.
